DEDICATION This website for the Good Radio News ministry is appropriately dedicated to the memory of Charlie Carter. He was instrumental in establishing the Ariton Church of Christ. In doing so, this dedicated Christian realized a long-time dream of having a congregation in the town where he lived, reared his family, and built a thriving business. Where is Ariton? Click here for map. The local congregation began in 1996. Four years later, this man encouraged the church and George Merritt to utilize Merritt's religious broadcasting experience through a new program called Power & the Glory, which debuted on a local station in September of 2000. That marked the beginning of this radio/internet ministry.
POWER & THE GLORY In 2004, the Ariton church launched out by faith to expand this work. Thanks to a number of other churches of Christ and interested individuals, Power & the Glory is heard on 15 stations in seven states. The population in the primary coverage areas of these stations is over six million. From this website, we are receiving emails from all continents with the exception of Antartica where there are no permanent residents. Listener response to our weekly gospel program was up 30 percent in 2007 from the previous year. If you would like to be a supporter, checks should be payable to

GOD & COUNTRY Since 2004, we have also produced and distributed a one-minute, weekday message called God & Country. Our 1,000th God & Country program will air early in 2008. These faith-based radio spots are airing at no cost to us. Currently, some three dozen broadcasters from coast to coast and from the Northeast to the Gulf of Mexico are airing this program.
