		Charlie and Sammy Carter

More than any other single person, Charlie Carter was instrumental in establishing the Ariton Church of Christ in 1996. In doing so, he realized a long-time dream of having a congregation in Ariton where he had lived, reared his family, and built a thriving business. Four years later, he had another dream – that of utilizing George Merritt’s religious broadcasting experience. The result was the debut of *Power & the Glory* on WRJM in September of 2000. For these reasons, we dedicate this website to his memory.

	In 2004, George Merritt went full-time with this work. *Power & the Glory* is now heard on 15 stations in seven states and has listeners worldwide via this website and the internet streaming of many stations. This broadcast aired its 500^th consecutive program April 28, 2010. Also, in 2004, *George Merritt’s God & Country* debuted on a handful of stations. The faith-based messages are now being heard on 41 radio stations from California to the Carolinas and from Pittsburgh and Detroit to Pensacola and New Orleans. In late April of 2010, another milestone was realized as the 1,500^th consecutive weekday program aired. Under the umbrella Good Radio News this radio/internet ministry is hearing from several hundred listeners a year and is distributing Bible study materials far and near. Financial support from churches of Christ and individual Christians help insure the continuation of this outreach and make possible its expansion.
